Here's
the (very) basic concept:
- Add
your media (audio and/or video) folders to TouchTone's Scan Folder
List.
- Have
TouchTone scan those folders (and sub-folders)
for media files.
- Find
the media file you wish to play using the lists.
- Add
the selected media file to the Queue - which puts
it "in line" to play (just like
a jukebox).
There
are 3 lists in the main window: the Jukebox List,
the Track List and the Queue List. The Jukebox
List presents an alphabetized list of all the
artists (and corresponding albums) that are found
in the TAG of your Mp3 files. Once you click on
the artist, a list of their songs will be displayed
in the Track List. On the other hand, if you wish
to find a song that starts with a specific letter,
then just click a letter in the Artist List. Once
you find the song(s) you want to hear, you can
highlight (select) them and add them to the queue.
TouchTone
Audio System keeps several internal play lists
to give you maximum flexibility for song selection
:
- The
Queue:
This is the only list visible in the main display
window (at the bottom). The tracks that you
select will be placed "in line" in
the queue. Adding a track to the queue does
not make it play immediately - the track that
is currently playing will finish, then the first
song in the queue will be "de-queued" and played.
If there are no tracks left in the queue, track
selection is passed to the next playlist level.
- The
Ultimate Stacker:
The stacker was designed to be a simple implementation
of a CD stacker. You can add Albums & Playlists
into it easily so that you can hear the music
you want to hear. This makes it easy to listen
to your latest music. You can even remove tracks
from these "virtual CDs" if you don't
want to hear all of them.
-
Active Playlists:
TouchTone can have multiple playlists preloaded
or a playlist created "on the fly"
and enabled. You can switch between preloaded
playlists at any time, which allows plenty of
music flexibility.
- The
Global List:
This is the entire list of songs that TouchTone
finds in the folders and CD drives scanned.

is a just a basic overview of how TouchTone works.
